Head +Shoulder Exercises
Having worked in a old peoples home i have seen how inactiverty can really impact a persons quality of life, I teach Tai Chi and i do a session once a week for the old folk at the local nursing home, most are wheel chair bound so i really just do the exercises that they can manage from their chairs we have a saying use it or lose it , so here are some easy exercise that will keep your head and shoulders working, 1.Take your chin down to your chest as far as you can manage -hold a second now raise your chin to the ceiling again as far as you can smile, repeat slowly 10 times 2.Take your chin to your left shoulder and try to look down behind your back hold a second and relax turn your head to the right and take your chin to your shoulder and again try to look down your back,relax and repeat 10 times 3.Move you head in circles use your chin take your chin forwards and down move to the left brining your chin up wide to your shoulder then in a continual circle up to the ceiling and around to the right shoulder then back down to the front dont strain but make the circle as big as possible, rotate 5 times to the left relax and repeat 5 times to the right, 4.Now lift your shoulders and try to touch them to your ears hold a couple of seconds and relax, repeat 10 times, 5. push your shoulders back then lift them up to your ears and then forwards in a continual circle make the circle as big as you can but dont strain to hard repeat 10 times. 6. the same as 5 only this time in reverse so shoulders forwards first raise up to the ears and push them back and down again mack the circles as large as you can with out straining to much, repeat 10 times, do these 6 simple exercises every day ,and you will allways be able to move your head and shoulders ,and beleive me you dont want your head getting getting to the point where you cant look up and down or left and right i have seen it for my self and it really does affect the quality of life , remember use it or lose it
