how to spot a scam before you've been had
firstly if it seems to good to be true then
it probabily is.
scam.com is a great site to check they have
lists of all known scams as well as suspected scams
wilkapedia is also a good resource ,
dont give out your details, and check the
email addresses and name of the sender, and the company
and do a google search.
some scams are very clever for example you may get a email
claiming to be from paypal that says theres been unuseual
activerty on your account and that your account has been deactivated for your security and you need to login
and reactivate your account or it will be suspended.
firstly do you have a paypal with that email address,
does your browser show the sites security lock ,normally
the browser will be green with a picture of a padlock,
if it isn't dont login in fact never login from
one of these mail, if you want to check login to your
account through your normal proceedure,not through the
link in the mail, send paypal the email and ask if its from them ,
dont fall for hard luck stories from poor africans ,
they are not poor if they were then they wouldn't have
access to a computer and the internet,
skype is a favourite hunting ground for these scammers,
they ask to be your freind soon there telling you how
hard there life is and how there refugees or that
there family has been killed ,there all alone with no money for food and sleeping rough often they will claim
to be a child, again if any of it was true the they
could hardly be on the internet could they,
scams work on your emotions sympathy + gread are the
2 main hooks they use alone with fear of missing out
dont give your details out dont send money to receive a
prize dont fall for sob stories, dont get scammed |
