Silver birch and fire The Silver birch tree is fantastic for getting a fire started the bark of the silver birch is natures answer to fire lighters it will work straight from the tree even when wet. all you need to do is peel some of the tree and put a match-lighter to it and it will light instantly and burn steadily. if your planning on going camping and plan on having a camp fire then you wont find a easier way start a fire then silver birch bark ,keep some in your kit your be glade you did
